Blue-billed Duck

The Blue-billed Duck, Oxyura australis, is a species that's rarely seen due to its affinity for deep-water lakes and wetlands. The species is listed as threatened in Victoria under the Flora and Fauna Guarantee Act, where it is subject to an Action Statement. It has also been listed as vulnerable in NSW. The species has not yet been listed under the Federal EPBC Act so does not receive federal protections granted to other species listed under this Act.
